Explore Carnegie Hall

Opened in 1891 and financed by industrialist Andrew Carnegie, the hall was designed by architect William Burnet Tuthill and has hosted more than 130 years of performances across three stages under one roof:
  • Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage

The hall’s main stage, prized by musicians and audiences alike for its acoustics and its tiered, horseshoe-shaped design.

  • Zankel Hall

A more intimate venue below street level, used for chamber music, jazz and contemporary programming.

  • Weill Recital Hall

A smaller recital space suited to solo and chamber performances.

Guided tours run most days throughout much of the concert season, taking in the Stern Auditorium, the Composers Gallery and the Rose Museum’s collection of artifacts from the hall’s history. For guests attending a concert, the box office sits at the 57th Street and Seventh Avenue entrance.

Make Carnegie Hall Part of Your NYC Stay

Staying two blocks from Carnegie Hall gives you more flexibility around an evening at the concert hall.

Start with breakfast at The Terrace before a day exploring Midtown, then walk over to Carnegie Hall in the evening with time to spare before curtain. After the performance, WestHouse is close enough to return for a quiet nightcap rather than navigating Midtown traffic at ten or eleven at night, with complimentary WiFi on hand back at the hotel.

For guests visiting purely to see the building, tours run through much of the concert season and can be paired easily with a morning at Central Park or an afternoon on Fifth Avenue.

It is this combination of proximity and a Midtown base to retreat to after the performance that makes WestHouse a practical choice for anyone building a trip around a night at Carnegie Hall.
